Food safety support for food manufacturers

Most food companies don't call a consultant because they want a binder. They call because a buyer asked for SQF certification, an inspector found a gap, or the food safety plan written years ago no longer matches how the plant runs. We help food manufacturers close those gaps in a way your team can keep up after we leave.

Getting SQF-ready without overspending

SQF can feel expensive before you've even booked an audit: the code, the certification body, the records you need to build up, and the staff time. We start with a gap assessment against the edition and module your customer actually requires, then rank the fixes by audit risk so the money goes where it matters. If your customer will accept another GFSI-benchmarked scheme or a different path, we'll help you weigh the options. SQF Edition 10 audits begin January 2, 2027. We'll help you prepare for the edition your audit falls under.

Environmental monitoring an auditor will accept

An EM program is only as good as its rationale. We help you map zones 1–4, choose sampling sites and frequencies you can justify, decide when to test for indicator organisms and when to test for pathogens, and write the procedure for when a result comes back positive. If you make ready-to-eat foods that are exposed to the environment, where contamination with an environmental pathogen such as Listeria is a hazard needing a preventive control, we build the environmental monitoring FDA requires under 21 CFR 117.165(a)(3).

Knowing which tests to order

Contract labs generally run what you order, and many won't tell you what to order. We help you decide which micro and shelf-life tests your product and process actually call for, write the sampling plan, choose a lab that fits your volume and turnaround needs, and read the results with you.

Records that survive the audit

Plans kept in Word and Excel tend to drift out of step with the floor. We tie your hazard analysis, process flow, preventive controls and monitoring records together, and train the people who keep them current. For halal export work, we prepare you for the certifier's review.

Where engagements usually start

Some plants come to us with a customer deadline and no records history yet. Others have an established plan that keeps drawing the same audit findings. In either case, we begin with a walk-through of the floor, not just the documents, because the gap between what the plan says and what the line does is usually where findings come from. You get a ranked list, clear owners, and a timeline your production schedule can absorb.

Frequently asked questions

Can you certify us to SQF or halal?

No. Certification comes from the certification body. We prepare you for its audit.

Do you run the lab tests?

No. We help you choose the right tests and lab, coordinate sampling, and interpret the results.

Can you help after an FDA inspection finding?

Yes. We help you organize the facts, find the root cause and document corrective actions, working with your preventive controls qualified individual (PCQI), who must do or oversee food safety plan reanalysis and record review. Questions about legal strategy belong with your counsel.
